Hosting and Catering a Barbecue Party Outdoors
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Summer is slowly making its way here and we are all very excited: so many summer activities. One of my favorite ones has to be cooking with a barbecue. This year will be special: my brother will be hosting a huge barbecue party in the beginning of May. He will be catering for about 55 people: it’s going to be a lot of beef, chicken and vegetables to entertain the crowd. I had to argue with him however that having it outdoors would be far better than just having an indoor barbecue party. Here is a list of reasons I gave him to defend my stance on hosting and catering a barbecue party outdoors rather than having everything done inside of his home.
1. The weather is finally getting nicer and people want to be outdoors. This year, New York had horridly cold weather and people couldn’t get out much and now that the weather was ok, an outdoor barbecue would be a perfect way to celebrate.
2. The smoke. If you are catering for so many people, there will be a lot of food being barbecued and the fumes could gather up causing an unpleasant smell and destroying the ambiance. Outdoors however this would be no problem since the smoke would not be trapped in a closed space.
3. Outdoor barbecues can be more spacious and beneficial for the guests. If catering to such a party, a lot of space will be needed and if it is indoors and in a small house, then no one will really be comfortable.
These are the three major reasons why it would be better to host and cater a barbecue party outside than inside. Since my brother is preparing food for over 50 people I also recommended that perhaps it would be wise for him to search for some professionals in barbecue catering to help so that way the day of the party he does not get overstressed.
